I chose to create a peony image because I thought it looked interesting as an up close almost abstract piece. I started out with cropping an image and tracing the image onto my lino block. I used various wood carving tools to carve and etch through the lino. I thought it was interesting that I had to transfer my image backwards for it to print the way I wanted. I used a black ink to roll onto my linocut and used a press to transfer my image onto the paper.
